Thanksgiving Marketing Ideas for Medical Practice Owners

Thanksgiving Marketing Ideas for Medical Practice Owners

With Thanksgiving just two days away, I thought it would be neat to look at some of the ways Medical Practices across the nation have used this opportunity to give back or to market their Medical Practices in their communities.  Their ideas may help you come up with ideas to incorporate into your marketing plan for next year. HealthCARE Express (Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana)

Each year for Thanksgiving, HealthCARE Express celebrates "Pilgrims & Indians Day" on the Tuesday before the holiday.  In their decked out gear, staff from the different clinics create a "Thank You" video to send as an e-card to their patients.

Iberia Medical Practice (Louisiana)
Iberia Medical Practice sponsored a Food Drive at their clinic in November to donate food to the Shepard's Pantry. For every donation dropped off, patients were entered into a raffle for a free Logan's Farm turkey.

Smokey Mountain Medical Practice (Tennessee)
Smokey Mountain Medical Practice used their mascot and involvement in their community's monthly Coffee Talk to collect food for the Sevier County Food Ministries.  They decorated tables at  the Coffee Talk event with donated food items.

Palisades Medical Practice (New York)
In honor of their one year anniversary, Palisades Medical Practice is inviting their community to come celebrate with them on Black Friday.  They will be giving away free hot dogs, t-shirts and many other goodies to show their gratitute for their patients and the community!

Other ideas to market your Medical Practice during Thanksgiving...

1. Create a Recipe Book
Ask your staff to submit healthy alternative recipes for Thanksgiving dinners.  Publish the recipes in a small book  to handout out to patients during November.  Or host a small Thanksgiving dinner for your staff, take photos of the food served, and post recipes and photos on both your Medical Practice's website and Pinterest account.

2. Send Thank You Cards Instead of Christmas Cards
Instead of sending Christmas cards and gifts to your patients and top occupational medicine clients, standout by sending Thanksgiving cards or bringing thank you gifts to show your appreciation to your clients.

3. Hold a Thanksgiving Food Trivia Contest
Throughout the month of November, host a food trivia contest on your Medical Practice's Facebook page and test how much people really know about the food they consume over the holiday season.  You can offer small prizes for winners to come in to your Medical Practice to pick-up.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
